Advanced (non-LWR) Fission Reactors

Anterix has licensed a portion ofthe900 MHz spectrum for a private broadband network for utilities –Private LTE(“PLTE”).Asthe largest owner of 900 MHz spectrum, they working with FCC to make the spectrum usable for broadband networks (3x3 MHz).Anterix is not creating new spectrum, but through re-organization of a portion of the band and the existing users, and coordinating rules changes with the FCC, it becomes possible to open enough contiguous spectrum to support private LTE.LTE itself is a mature technology, so the Anterix spectrumcan leverage existing communications hardware while also being an enabler for private utility networksthat can offer improved reliability and security over public LTE networks.Anterix’s “LTE-in-a-box” offering is an all-inclusive software implementation of LTE core elements and the LTE radio access network (eNB) functions, whichcan be implemented as a private network thatallows equipment with appropriate USIM cards to attach on the 900 MHz (Band 8) spectrum.

A 5 MWt/2 MWe heat pipe reactor for "plug-and-go" power applications in remote installations and communities. The design is capable of rapid installation and shutdown and largely autonomous operation for 5 years without refueling. MegaPower is fueled by high-assay low enriched uranium oxide.

The X-battery is a gas-cooled pebble bed reactor fueled by high assay LEU fuel particles, capable of autonomous operation. The 10 MWt reactor is road-transportable and can be configured to provide combined heat and power.

The CUBE is a 150 MWt/100 MWe liquid-fueled, single fluid, thermal spectrum molten salt reactor design fueled by a combination of thorium and spent fuel from LWRs.

Scalable, heat pipe-cooled reactor design producing combined heat and power of 0.2-25 MWe for decentralized and/or remote generation markets. The factory-built and assembled eVinci has inherent load following capabilities, rapid on-site installation potential, and infrequent refueling needs.

A advanced, ultra-compact gas-cooled reactor with an energy conversion system and turbomachinery integrated into the core. Initial development efforts for the 3-50 MWe design are focused on remote locations, including space, and critical national security sites.

A modular reactor cooled by molten nitrate salt and solid uranium oxide fuel with integrated thermal energy storage

This simplified molten salt reactor is designed to reduce design and operational complexity: passive heat pipes eliminate the need for heat exchanger tubes and a naturally-circulating primary flow eliminates the need for pumps. Reactor system to be coupled with a small commercial gas turbine for electricity production of ~5 MWe.

The Westinghouse LFR is a lead-cooled, fast spectrum reactor with an output in the 500 MWe range.

HTR-PM is a helium-cooled, graphite-moderated thermal spectrum reactor with a pebble bed core. With 8.5% enriched uranium-based TRISO fuel, this reactor has a capacity of 250 MWt/105 MWe. A two-unit demonstration plant is in the final stages of construction, and is expected to come online this year.
